Dr Jenna Besley is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO). She is a comprehensive ophthalmologist providing medical and surgical care for a broad range of eye conditions, including cataract, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and ocular surface and periocular lesions. She has particular interests in cataract, pterygium and oculoplastic surgery.

After graduating from the University of Queensland Medical School, Dr Besley completed her ophthalmology training at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney. She subsequently undertook fellowship training with the Fred Hollows Foundation in Nepal and in the Indigenous communities surrounding Alice Springs, and has completed further fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery in Nottingham, United Kingdom. During her time in Nottingham, she gained extensive experience in eyelid malposition surgery and periocular reconstruction following skin cancer excision.

Dr Besley holds a Master of Medicine (Ophthalmic Science) from the University of Sydney. She has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Health Policy, reflecting her interest in health system improvement and service delivery. She is committed to ongoing professional development and evidence-based patient care.

Known for her warm, approachable manner, Dr Besley places a strong emphasis on communication and patient education, ensuring patients feel informed and supported throughout their treatment journey. Dr Besley values collaborative care and timely communication with referring practitioners, recognising the important role of optometrists and general practitioners in achieving the best outcomes for patients. Dr Besley is passionate about improving access to high-quality eye care in rural, remote and underserved communities, both within Australia and internationally.
